Sorry for not being able to be there with you on Valentine’s Day. Feel bad and sad and lonely too. I know it’s not easy for you to be alone. It’s not easy for me either. But you know you are loved by me. So here, as I will write, is a small taste of what love and life will be in future.
After we’re married and a while before we’ll be with each other more often than anytime now. I know now is the time for our youth. A time where we live life for the opportunities presented to us. We study and get good grades so the future is safe and bright for us to go forward. I know it’s a lonely time, but we should try to get past it as best we can.
Since we’re married and living together every day should be Valentine’s Day. We cannot water a garden once a year. You’ll need to take care of a garden always so that it grows into a thing of beauty. It’s the same with love and us. Every day we must say I love you at least once, before we embark on our work and daily activities. It’s important to say it and feel it. At least a reminder of what we have.
When you wake up in the morning you’ll get a kiss. I’ll kiss you in the morning when you wake up; I’ll look at you and say I love you. You’ll have your bath after that and when you come out we’ll have breakfast. We can take turns making breakfast for each other. Every morning I’ll feed you at least a bite. Kiss your forehead and be with you before the day begins. You’ll get dressed and i will too. Then we kiss each other good bye and off to work.
When we’re both back we can make dinner together, we can both cook and have wonderful conversations. You can tell me what’s on your mind you know. If you’re feeling something or when something is bothering you, you can tell me. I’ll help you as best I can. A husbands place is by his wife. His job is to love her, protect her, and watch out for her. I’ll do that for you (I know you think you don’t need much protecting but you do =p).
After dinner is TV time. I know we’ll fight on what to see. I’ll want to watch an English programme and you’ll want to watch a Tamil programme. We’ll figure that out later, but it’s important that we be with each other before the day ends. Then it’s time for bed, you know, I’ve wanted to hold your hand and take you to bed you know. I’ve always imagined it like that. It feels nice to hold your hand and bring you to lie down beside me. I’ll make you sleep, put my hands on your head and make sure you fall asleep. I’ll make feel comfortable till you fall off to sleep. “Good night sweetheart” is what I’ll say. It’ll be like that for the next 40 – 50 years.
Weekends will be just you and me. Romantic weekends are the two days just for us. (If we haven’t had children yet, then Saturday and Sunday, if we do then at least a Sunday we must have for us). Don’t think these two days are just about us. We can take the time to ponder about our kids. I know you want to have them as soon as possible. I do too, so Saturdays and Sundays are the days we try. We build up the excitement of having a family. We have dinner by candle light, watch the moon and the stars at night, we wear our best clothes. We talk about our children; we see them in our visions and make it real. We try to get pregnant; we do as many times as possible. We’ll get lucky and soon we’ll have a family.
When we do have a family, I can think of no other gift greater for a mere day of love (Valentine’s Day). Even now I feel like we’ve done more than we can to show our love for each other. When the children run around and when they say their first words we’ll be with them. We’ll see them walk for the first time, laugh, and play. It’ll be lovely to see. I want all that. I want happy children. They’ll be intelligent, bright, and strong. They’ll be tremendously cute, chubby, and active. Like how we were when young. Fair dark whatever colour, it suits me just fine. Just as long as you, them, and me are together.
I know how Akshey will be, baby girl, and boy. I know how they’ll react to things they see around them. I know a part of you will be in them, after all, you are they’re mother right. They’ll have your eyes and your smile. They’ll see the world through their eyes and grow up well. We’ll be there with them throughout. They’ll become people who are good and caring and we’ll always love them.
Every day should be Valentine’s Day sweetheart. It’s how you look at life. It’s how you take each day. After that when Valentine’s Day comes it seems insignificant to all the love we share each and every day.
I’m saying because I love and care for you. I cannot go without you. I’m glad I found you and I’m glad I have you. No one will replace you. HAPPY VALENTINE’s Day.
